Here is a list of must-do’s while on Coronado Island.
- Take a Walk – Coronado has some fun shops, cute neighborhoods, and great restaurants.
- Rent a Bike – Bike through Coronado’s neighborhoods or on the 15 miles of bike paths that meander along the coast. There are a number of bike rental companies in Coronado.
- Take a Tour – One of the best ways to see Coronado is by tour. Coronado has several walking tours, and a Segway tour.
- Visit the historic Coronado Hotel – This National Historic Landmark once hosted some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Take a ride in the elevator (one of only 3 elevators in the US, to have an elevator operator), view the wall on the first floor that outlines the hotel’s rich history, or eat at its many restaurants.
- Experience the Grunion Running – Grunions are a 5-inch blue green silver fish with an unusual mating ritual where they come up on to the beach where they dig their tails into the sand to lay their eggs. This moonlight adventure only occurs at night, at high tide, and two to six nights after a new or full moon. Check out when the Grunions will be running next.
