]]>Eating everything: one parenting cliche which happens to be a mistake is making your kids clean their plates at dinner. Various studies show that forcing your kid to eat all their food can lead to overeating later in life. Most children only eat 60 percent of the food on their plates and that's completely normal.
Make family time active: instead of going to dinner or a movie together, take a family walk, play soccer or go on a hike. Setting family time around an activity sets the precedent that health is important and that will follow your kids for the rest of their lives.
No eating in front of the TV: there have been a million studies showing that snacking in front of the TV leads to mindless overeating. That is a bad habit you do not want to set for you kid at a young age.
