Top Sushi Restaurants near Woodland Hills

Sushi bars and restaurants saw a rise in the early 2000s with more and more Americans trying and enjoying sushi.  Sushi is packed with bursts of flavor in small bites and studies show that Japanese women and men live longer and healthier than any other culture on Earth.

With that being said, it is still important to know that not all sushi is good for you.  Select sushi with little or no rice and with little or no extra sauce, also keep in mind that soy sauce contains a high amount of sodium.  For those who don’t like or haven’t tried sushi (raw fish), there are cooked and vegetarian options.  Also, while fish, rice and the nori sheets that are used to wrap rolls are all naturally gluten free, the sauces (even wasabi could be mixed with ingredients that contain gluten) and toppings may have gluten or may be near gluten filled ingredients, so it is important to ask.

Now that you know a little bit about sushi, where can you find the best sushi near your Woodland Hills apartment?  According to reviews on Yelp, Google or Trip Advisor here are the top three:

Restautant Tatsuki is located on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills and has a 4 star rating on both Yelp and Google.  Customers mention the sashimi lunch box, clean and friendly atmosphere and the freshness of the fish.  While they have some more American styled sushi, they also have a selection of more exotic selections for the more adventuresome.

Brothers Sushi also gets good ratings from Yelp, Zagat and Google.  Located on Ventura Boulevard, this tiny sushi restaurant has been serving sushi for years.   It is closed on Sundays, but open for lunch and dinner other days.  Reviewers call it fresh and clean and rave about the sautéed shrimp roll with garlic and the king crab hand roll.  This sushi restaurant can be busy and serves basic sushi and more advanced sushi.

Sushi Ichiban Kan has the highest Yelp rating at 4 ½ stars and is located at 19723 Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills.  Reviewers mention freshness and friendly staff as the reason for frequenting this restaurant.  They have a number of cooked options on the menu and customers mention the Japanese scallop with yuzu, sashimi, spicy tuna hand roll, eel roll and black snapper as their favorites.  They serve beer and saki (check their site for more details).  The restaurant can get busy, but is a favorite of sushi lovers in Woodland Hills.
