Warner Center Park is a great place to start your running; if you run the permitter you have completed a flat one mile race. This is a great place for the beginner, but just think running this course is 1/3 of a 5K so you are on your way.
Run the trails of Serrania Park with your best friend (or dog) for a fun run in the woods and park. Well behaved dogs are allowed to be unleashed.
Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve is located at Victory Blvd and Gilmore Street in West Hills, CA and is a great workout for those who like trail running. The well maintained trail can get steep and some visitors warn of rattlers, the views are worth the sweat. You can park inside for $3.00 or on the street.
Preparing for a 10K? Try the Woodland Hills-Calabasas Loop; which is a 6.38 miles/10.26 km loop with a mixed flats, hills and roads.
