Using Pumpkins to Decorate this Thanksgiving

  |     |   Apartment Living Woodland Hills

Are you looking for easy (and inexpensive) ways to decorate your Woodland Hills apartment this Thanksgiving?  Take a cue from your local farmer’s market or grocery store and use pumpkins and gourds.

Pumpkin carving isn’t just for Halloween.  Pumpkins make great vessels for candles.

Carve out a medium sized pumpkin and place a candle holder and candle inside.  Place the pumpkin on a large platter and surround it with small pumpkins or gourds and some greens for an easy and festive look.

Small pumpkins and gourds make great candle holders for votive candles and can be arranged on your table or throughout your apartment.  Be certain that the pumpkin/gourd is large enough and that the candle holder fits properly for safety.

You can also find Thanksgiving pumpkin stencils on line or carve your own message.

Pumpkins make a great vase for a flower arrangement.  Carve out the pumpkin and simply place a vase with flowers inside of your pumpkin or purchase flower foam.

Pumpkin painting and decorating.

Pumpkins can be painted using acrylic paint.  Choose metallic paings like gold and silver for a true statement piece.

Another idea is to stack pumpkins on top of each other for a great accent piece to place in your Woodland Hills apartment.

Happy Thanksgiving!
